GTA
Type 1c/Level A non-emergency, long duration working Gas Tight Suit used in irrespirable atmospheres

Respirex : the leading manufacturer of highly specialised chemical and respiratory protective clothing employing state of the art technology in garment material and suit design. All garments are fully engineered to global safety standards.

GTA
The Respirex GTA is a non-emergency Type 1c/Level A gas-tight chemical protective suit of one-piece construction designed for long duration usage in harmful atmospheres. The suit is designed for use with breathable air supplied from an external compressed air source providing positive pressure. The quality of air flowing into the garment must conform to the European standard EN132:1990 Annex A. All Respirex GTA suits are CE marked to the latest European standard for gas tight clothing, prEN943-1:1997, and are extensively used by industries throughout the world.

Product Features
An air system completely contained within the garment that provides breathing and cooling air to the user together with an audible warning device designed to activate if the airflow drops below the minimum level. 440 litres/minute of air is fed into the suit, 240 litres/minute is fed to the head for breathing and 200 litres/minute is fed in equal proportions to the legs and arms of the suit. This helps to maintain a comfortable ambient temperature within the garment and prevents the user from suffering early heat exhaustion.

A visor permitting clear undistorted vision is fitted with the mechanical strength of the visor conforming to EN146:1991.
3 point hanging system which helps prevent distortion during storage.
Heavy duty 91cm (36") gas tight zipper fitted horizontally across the chest or a 122cm (48") zipper fitted vertically down the right-hand side of the suit.
Highly chemically resistant ’HAZMAX’ safety boots with steel toecap and mid-sole conforming to EN345-2:1996 can be either permanently bonded to the suit or fitted by means of the new Respirex detachable boot system. This new system allows easy replacement of damaged or badly worn boots without affecting the integrity of the suit.
Gloves that are compatible with the material of the suit fitted by means of the Respirex locking cuff mechanism; this system enables the user to change the gloves when necessary.
Adjustable internal support belt enabling users of varying sizes to comfortably wear the suit.
Sufficient exhalation valves fitted to ensure that the pressure change within the suit does not exceed 1mbar in 1 minute.
Taped inner and outer seams
Every garment tested for leak-tightness (internal pressure test) according to EN464:1994.
Suit supplied in a rigid plastic box to ensure correct storage when not in use; case dimensions 60 x 41 x 41 cm.

Important Notes
Each suit will consume between a minimum of 360 l/m (13CFM) and a maximum of 440 l/m (16 CFM) of air. It is important that the compressed air source is of sufficient size to deliver the correct airflow to the suit. A wide range of approved airline couplings can be fitted to the suit, however it is recommended that large bore couplings are used. In the event that partial contamination may exist in the factory ring main from which the suit draws its air supply, a Respirex in-line filter unit should be fitted to the air system; this will prevent the ingression of contamination down to 5 microns in size from entering the garment. Respirex GTA suits are supplied pre-set to operate at the customer’s specific airline pressure. An internal bore size of 9.5mm (3/8") is recommended for the air supply hose to be used with the garment; this hose should be approved to EN270:1994.
